This event is the Clinton Chamber of Commerce's annual Public Service Appreciation Luncheon, open to the community as well as Chamber members. At this special luncheon each year, the Chamber joins the community of Clinton to honor and celebrate our city's exceptional public servants.
For our October Public Service Appreciation Luncheon, the Chamber will recognize all elected officials in attendance, in addition to presenting the awards for Clinton Firefighter, Policeman, and City Employee of the Year. The Chamber will also welcome guest speaker Shad White, State Auditor for Mississippi, at this celebration of our outstanding citizens.
Shad, an alumnus of the University of Mississippi, also studied as a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford, earning a master’s in economic history. Additionally, Shad holds a law degree from Harvard Law School, where he served as the President of the Federalist Society and brought speakers to campus to defend the legality of public prayer, the morality of work and free enterprise, and the importance of traditional moral values. In 2011, Shad served as Director of Policy to then-Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant. Shad later practiced law in the private sector, served as a special prosecutor in Rankin County, and served as Director of the Mississippi Justice Institute. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Mississippi, earned a certificate in forensic accounting from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and previously worked as a fellow at a national think tank on state policy.
Currently, Shad serves as the 42nd State Auditor of Mississippi under Governor Phil Bryant, and the Chamber is thrilled to welcome him as our guest speaker at our 2018 Public Service Appreciation Luncheon to honor Clinton's best.
The meal at this event will be provided by Mississippi College, and we are thrilled to offer the following menu for our Public Service Appreciation Luncheon:
As this is a catered event, reservations are required to ensure enough food for guests. In light of this, the Chamber kindly requests attendees register by October 12th so that we can provide ample lunch for everyone.
Join the Clinton Chamber as we network, lunch, and celebrate our public servants!
